Gelco doesn’t manufacture complete chimney crowns as standalone units. Instead, they produce the crown repair materials and coatings that technicians apply to existing concrete crowns: Gelco CrownCoat, Gelco CrownSeal, and the Gelco pre-formed foam forms used for structural rebuilds. The key is matching the right product to your crown’s condition.

If your crown still has intact structural concrete but hairline cracking or minor spalling, CrownCoat (a brushable elastomeric compound) is the appropriate Gelco product. For crowns with more advanced deterioration but solid base concrete, CrownSeal (a trowel-grade rebuild material) builds back lost mass. Full foam-form rebuilds are reserved for crowns that have lost more than 30% of their original mass or where the concrete has separated from the flue tile.

Here’s the compatibility gotcha: Gelco CrownCoat and CrownSeal are not interchangeable with generic masonry sealants.
